The percentage of our total exports which are exports to the EU countries has declined since Britain's entry and Mr Cook must know this. There is no evidence to suggest that exports to the EU are dependent on membership and Mr Cook must know this. To suggest that the EU nations only buy Scotch whisky and London gin because we are members of the EU is preposterous.
